Anniversary

Today is our first anniversary! I can't believe how fast this past year has gone by or that it's only been one year! It's been absolutely wonderful. We got a sweet card from Phil's parents and they reminded us just what we've been through the last 12 months: new roles as husband and wife, Lisa went through the temple for the first time, we joined a new ward, received 2 new callings each, Lisa graduated from college, Phil had a deviated-septum surgery, Phil was out of work for 4 1/2 months, he now has 2 jobs, we remodeled part of our house, we visited 4 different temples, Lisa survived 38 long weeks of pregnancy, and the best part, we now have a beautiful baby! After several years of what seemed like stagnet bordom, life sure has happened fast!

We went to the restaurant La Fuente, where Phil and I had our very first date, exactly 1 1/2 years ago. It was fun, but this will not be an annual tradition for us... both of us aren't feeling too well. It's changed a bit, and Olive Garden is cheaper and yummier. But it was a nice idea.

It's my turn to share about how absolutely sweet my husband is! I woke to 3 gorgeous red roses and a beautiful letter Phil wrote on our honeymoon. I can't believe he was able to keep it a secret for a year! Or that I didn't accidentally find it while cleaning or rearranging the house. Phil has also written a letter or poem for every day of significance the last several months (Valentine's Day, the day after Grace was born, Mother's Day, even Earth Day!) and it is the best, sweetest idea! He does this rather than give me expensive greeting cards, it's been the best! And he's so creative, I love his words and thoughts and will cherish them forever.

And last but not least, we taped Gracie smiling and laughing at us. It's so amazing how fast they grow and how neat it is that she can interact with us. She's the CUTEST BABY EVER! But I know... I'm biased. ;)
